Me, Dex, and Karissa (my friend in town from AK... hello, can you say climate change??) went to the zoo today. I couldn't believe how humid/hot it was. I mean, literally sweating the entire time. But I think Dex had fun, and that's all that matters, right? :)
Dex had a little help from Mama painting this bobble-head :)
Sean - You are a wonderful father, I am so happy and thankful to have our son with you!! I love you! (from Kerri)
And if Dex could type, I'm sure he'd thank you for being the best daddy a little boy could have :) And he loves you, too!! (in case the random crying at 3 in the morning or throwing a fit when you won't let him play outside wasn't a big enough clue :) Ha!)
Man, we had a full day of friends yesterday! After Allison & Avaree left, Dex's cousins, Brooks & Gentry, stopped by for lunch and some running around :) They L.O.V.E.D. the keyboard! Well, Dex and Brooks did, Gentry mostly sat to the side and bopped her head to the beat. :) But she was right there observing, no matter what!
Love the look on G's face!
I mean, these boys were SERIOUSLY into it...
Look at me, mom!!
Making sure Brooks is pushing the right buttons. (and a book in the mouth? Seriously? What's that about?)
It looks like they're composing here. Just talking through what their next chord should be.
Too much fun! Wish we did that more often! Life gets too hectic, and sometimes I forget to get out of the house and go see PEOPLE!!
I LOVE when I see Dex interact with other babies... He got to hang out with Avaree this morning, and it was the cutest thing... they even tried to hold hands at one point (which of course I missed with the camera. Arg!!).
Love that sneaky little look he's got going on here :)
Okay, so I hadn't seen this commercial, but I'd actually just heard of the blue jean diapers...and thought "I need those"...
WELL..... Daddy Doug came over today (he usually brings gifts in the form of yummy baby food and snacks) but today...today he brought over a pack of size 3 (I can't even give him enough props for finding 3's) blue jean diapers for Dex!!!!! OMG, I'm in heaven!!
As some of you may know, I start my new job tomorrow!! Which means, back to the old daily grind :( But it also means I've gotten to spend the last couple of days at home with my boy, and it's been pretty awesome!
This is what we did from 8 to 11 today. I finally had to stop taking pictures because otherwise this post would be about seven pages long.
Played with Daddy's iPod ear buds. But DON'T you dare put those in his ears, he hates that! Lesson learned!
Mommy let him eat Mac'n'cheese for breakfast (along with his breakfast bar, if anybody thinks I'm a horrible parent)! I hate to admit this, but M'n'C is one of my favorite breakfasts, and he looked like wanted some, too... how could I say no! :) Hehe!
I tried to give him a bite of a nectarine... he didn't like.
Played with Lilly. He would touch her hand, she'd pull it back, and he'd die laughing! He did this until Lil finally just left.
Ran around all morning with no pants on!!! (Shhh... don't tell Daddy!)
I think he takes after his Tia...he prefers to just graze all day, rather than have three full meals. About an hour after his rousing breakfast, he was already hitting the salty snacks.
Well, yeah, anybody can put one in their mouth... but can they put five?"
His newest favorite toy. Magnets! (Why are his favorite play things the ones I spend a dollar on?)
I tried to get him to watch Ice Age with me, but no such luck. He kept banging on the back door with a spoon, so we went outside. He likes to bring me all the leaves on the ground.
Shwew! And that's just two hours! With ONE baby! Every day I gain more and more respect for nannies of multiple kids or MOMMIES of multiples!! God bless you all!! :)
