About Dex

I haven't taken any pictures of Dex or talked about him much on the blog in a while...  He's not a big fan of the camera these days, but I tried and was able to get a few photos anyway :)

He is a train FREAK.  He wakes up to play with trains on his bedroom floor... we bring the trains (that he slept with) downstairs to play a little more before he goes to school.  He takes one train with him to school.  He watches Thomas the Train videos on the way to school.  He comes home, tells me HI and heads straight for his play room to play with his trains until dinner.  Then more trains.  If he goes to our neighbors house to play, he wants to play trains.  When we go outside, he takes his trains.  He takes trains to bed with him.  We read train stories before bed, and then he sleeps with two trains that he's picked for the night.  He knows every train by name, he even knows what number each train has on their coal car (or engine).

Here he is racing Thomas and Rosie.  Intense.

About to race "one more time"!

This is his set-up in the play room.  It changes daily based on how he NEEDS (his word) the tracks configured.

Trains, trains, EVERYWHERE!

Even with the train obsession, he's a pretty good kid :)  I can already tell he's a little sensitive, tender hearted, definitely likes things just so and will let you know when they're not, extremely friendly, prefers to play with others rather than alone, talks constantly, is super sweet and obedient, and I know he will be a fabulous big brother!  He talks about the baby all the time and can't wait for her to get here "so he can share his trains and touch her."  Our neighbor just had her little baby and Dex constantly asks if he can go look at him and touch him.  Then he'll tell our neighbor "I'm going to have a baby sister!"

I made a wreath for my hospital door and when he asked what I was doing, I told him I was making the baby a present.  He looked at it and said "OH!  She's going to LOVE that!"  He even got to feel her hiccuping one night not too long ago, which was cool, because you could see his face light up when he actually felt it.

I just love him so much and can't believe we are now down to less than a week with only one child!  I am so excited to have both our babies home, but it's an end of an era!

Sweet little Declan :)  My firstborn and precious, miraculous little boy!  Here are a few pictures I got of him eating watermelon...  I don't know what was cracking him up so much or why he decided it was okay to look at the camera, but I'm sure it was me being a witty, hilarious mom!  Ha!
