Last Few Pics

Here are some more pics that Michaelan did.  I'm showing more family stuff this time around.  It was super hard to keep Dex's attention when we were all in the picture and one of us couldn't whistle and clap at him!  Michaelan did the best she could, but she's only got so many hands! :)

We were trying to get a shot of us two, and Dex would NOT quit looking at the fish!  I was kind of exasperated at this point :)  But it turned out kinda funny!

Dex - Model Extraordinaire

So... kind of a random way we found each other, but Michaelan is starting out in the photography business here in the DFW area. She is a friend of one of my old friends, and I saw some pictures she'd done of him and loved her style! I asked if she would like to take some pictures of Dex and, funny thing, my friend had already suggested she take pictures of him for her website!


We were able to get together yesterday (Sunday), and I must say, I am genuinely impressed with what she did! I love her use of colors, her retro style, plus she's very laid back and made it very easy on us! It was a shame that it was ridiculously cold outside with the wind, so we didn't get near as many outside shots as I think she would have liked, but maybe we can have a re-do on a warmer day :) Poor Dex had a runny faucet nose and tears were coming out of his eyes from the cold! We decided then that we should probably call it a day.


Here are a few shots from her first round of editing. I'll probably have a few more in the next couple of days. She should have her website up soon, so rest assured I will direct you all there once it is! And if anybody in Dallas loves these as much as I do, I'll be glad to get her info to you! :)

Newest video of me and Dex hanging out one afternoon :) He's getting really good at crawling, but he slides a round a little on the hardwood, as you will see! And he says "dada" ALL the time!! For everything! Haha! Enjoy!

Computer Genius

I can't get a new computer until he gets older and quits destroying this one... if he could play on my computer all day long while standing up with people watching him, I think he'd be the happiest baby on the face of the earth.

New Stuff

Dex is definitely back to his normal self, thank goodness!  He's crawling around like a mad man, is pulling up on EVERYTHING (as I type, he's pulling up on me), and eats absolutely anything you put in front of him!  I'm talking from blueberries to cheese to eggs to rice pilaf.  Anything. 

His favorite thing to pull up on now is Sean's "hunting trunk" that has found itself parked in our dining room :)

Progress

I've gotten a few smiles out of him this morning...I consider this progress since yesterday was so dismal (except when Mimi and DD came over, then he was all smiles and giggles!  Crazy kid.)

Poor baby!

Our perfect little angel baby (haha!) has been kind of a grump lately.  He's been sick...stuffy nose, coughing, fever for the last couple days and all that goes with that...loss of appetite, waking up at all hours of the night screaming, needing to be held constantly, nothing seems to console him (except maybe being walked around by momma).  It's been tons of fun, let me tell you.  I feel really bad for him but I'm not sure how else to help him :(  He's taking medicine, getting lots of love, and a friendly face at 12 am...2 am...4 am...6 am...

Anyway - that's why I haven't been blogging the last few days.  These are the kinds of faces I've gotten when I try to take his picture...

"I'm tired...I'm sick...don't mess with me."

"WHY??!!"

I thought I'd get in the picture with him.  Tylenol must be kicking in :)  LOOPY!

So hopefully this will all be over soon.  I'm ready to see that smile again!

That's what Sean said after he installed this baby gate upstairs :) 

When I shower, Dex plays on the floor in the hallway and in the bathroom, but I have to keep checking to make sure he doesn't head toward the stairs.  Not anymore!!

Trapped

Since Dex can now pull up on certain things, he's also figured out he can do so in his crib, when SOMEBODY puts him in there against his will...

How pitiful!!  When I went in to take pictures, he thought we were playing and started laughing.  I'm sure he'll be back to sleep very soon... yeah right.

Well, well, well...

Apparently, all I had to do was wait 24 hours for the video to upload!  Seems simple enough. *sigh* (I don't get it...)

Anyway - here is Dex pulling up for the first time!!  Notice how close I am in case he topples over.  Overprotective much??!

Dex Shows Off

We went to the doctor today for Dex's one year check-up. We went through everything he's been up to since we last saw the doc...babbling, crawling, eating solid foods, etc. He asked, "Has he started pulling up on things yet?" I had to say "No, not yet..."

Sooo...just to make me look like an idiot, Dex pulled up for the first time this afternoon! I'd say it was, ohhh, about three hours after I told the doctor that he wasn't doing that yet. Kind of like last month when I told a different doctor he wasn't clapping his hands and he started clapping immediately... little stinker...

(note:  I tried my hardest to get the video uploaded, but it just NOT cooperating.  I don't have the first clue what the problem is.  I mean, it's not like this is my first time.  Seriously...sometimes technology really gets on my nerves.  Anyway, until I figure it out, here is a play-by-play in pictures!)
